This Lincoln Memorial watercolor print shows the white marble memorial in Washington, D.C., seen from the far end of the Reflecting Pool on a late-summer day. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the National Mall, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines pick out the Doric columns, the broad steps and the stone balustrades, while the long pool is laid in clear blue washes with pale streaks for the reflected colonnade. The memorial sits small and centered at the far end, framed by elm-lined walks on both sides. To the right, the Potomac River and a stone arched bridge lead to wooded Virginia hills in soft blue and violet. Leafy elms are built up in dabs of green and gold, and pink shrubs bloom by a stone wall in the lower left. The edges dissolve into pink, blue and yellow washes with drips and splatter over the white paper. "WASHINGTON D.C." is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Symmetrical calm. The pool runs straight down the middle toward the memorial, giving the print a quiet, balanced look.
- Ducks and geese. Ducks and Canada geese swim on the pool while walkers and a jogger move along the banks.
- Cool summer palette. Blue water, green elms and white marble are lifted by a touch of pink in the foreground.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
The blues and greens suit a home office, a study or a hallway with navy, white or sage accents. It makes a thoughtful gift for a history lover or someone who just moved away from the capital. Pair it with our Washington, D.C. watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lincoln Memorial? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool, and some background details are simplified or rearranged.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "WASHINGTON D.C.," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
