This Lanikai Beach watercolor print shows the twin Mokulua islands, Moku Nui and Moku Iki, off the white crescent of Lanikai Beach, seen from the pillbox trail on Kaiwa Ridge. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of this stretch of Oahu coast, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Clear layers take the sea from turquoise to deep blue, with dark dabs for the reef. Dry grass is drawn with golden dry-brush strokes over red-brown soil, and the left edge and bottom fade into red-brown washes with a long drip in the lower left. The palette is turquoise and deep ocean blue, palm and island green and dry-grass gold, accented by red volcanic earth. From the ridge, Moku Nui and the smaller, pointed Moku Iki sit in the middle ground on the right, the beach and homes among palms curve on the left, Kailua Bay and green mountains bend away beyond, and a concrete pillbox sits in the foreground. Warm summer sun has dried the ridge grass to gold. "LANIKAI BEACH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Pillbox lookout foreground. Two friends sit on the concrete bunker taking in the view, just as hikers do.
- Twin island focus. Moku Nui and Moku Iki stand out clearly against the turquoise reef.
- Kayaks and canoes. A yellow-and-red kayak heads for the islands while two outrigger canoes cross the water.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The turquoise and red-earth palette warms a living room, guest room or home office with rattan, terracotta or white. Give it to someone who hiked the pillbox trail or calls Kailua home.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lanikai Beach? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Lanikai Beach and the Mokulua islands, not a precise view from the trail.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "LANIKAI BEACH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
