This Kaanapali watercolor print shows Black Rock (Puʻu Kekaʻa) jutting into turquoise water at the end of a golden beach lined with palms and low-rise resorts. The scene is a watercolor-style interpretation of the Maui coast, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Transparent layers move the sea from turquoise near shore to deep blue, with foam left as paper. Pink plumeria and hibiscus are dabbed in soft blooms, fine ink outlines the resort buildings and stone wall, and the left edge melts into pink and blue washes with a long drip. The palette is turquoise and ocean blue, palm green and sand gold, with plumeria pink accents. Black Rock pushes into the sea in the middle ground on the right, the curved beach with low-rise hotels among palms runs on the left, the green West Maui Mountains rise behind, and a paved beach path with a low stone wall and flowers fills the lower left. A distant whale spout marks the winter season. "KAANAPALI" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Whale-season detail. A humpback spout rises far offshore, a nod to winter on Maui.
- Snorkelers and sails. Snorkelers gather near Black Rock while a white catamaran and an outrigger canoe cross the water.
- Plumeria pink accents. Blooming flowers along the beach path warm the cool blues.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its pink and turquoise tones fit a cheerful bedroom, a bathroom or a breezy living room with white and light wood. A sweet reminder for a couple who honeymooned on Maui or a family who returns to Kaanapali every winter.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Kaanapali? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Kaanapali, and the layout of the mountains and shoreline is rearranged for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "KAANAPALI," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
