A Japanese landscape print for a living room that can take a lot of pattern. Clouds, waves and dots stack in bands of orange, pink, navy, black and gold, with JAPANESE FIELDS and TOKYO JAPAN lettered on the sheet. It is a landscape broken into ornament, the kind of picture you keep finding new corners in.
About the artwork
The palette is warm and dense: orange and pink against navy and black, with gold running through as an accent. The landscape is abstract, built from bands of pattern rather than a single view. Clouds, wave lines and round dots fill almost every part of the sheet, a nod to ukiyo-e patterning more than to any real place. The lettering reads JAPANESE FIELDS and TOKYO JAPAN. Expect fine detail up close and bold color blocks from across the room. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- Pattern you can study. Clouds, waves and dots fill nearly every inch, so the print rewards a close look.
- Warm and dark together. Orange and pink sit against navy and black, which lets it work in both warm and cool rooms.
- Gold accents for brass and wood. The gold-colored bands pick up brass lamps, cane or honey-toned wood nearby.
- A landscape without a postcard view. It suggests fields and weather through pattern instead of showing a famous landmark.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Give it a living room wall with space around it, painted warm white, terracotta or deep navy. Over a sofa, 30" x 40" lets the pattern read as a whole; 24" x 36" works above a sideboard. Keep nearby textiles plain, such as solid rust or navy cushions, so the print stays the busy element. An espresso or black floating frame contains the detail. Pair it with a single-color abstract or a small gold object on a shelf.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this print very busy? It is detailed, with pattern across most of the sheet. From across the room it reads as bands of color; up close you see the clouds, waves and dots.
What colors does it bring to a room? Orange, pink, navy, black and gold. Choose navy or orange for cushions or a throw to tie it in.
Does it show a real place in Tokyo? The lettering says TOKYO JAPAN, but the picture itself is an abstract landscape made of pattern, not a view of a specific site.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
