A retro Itsukushima torii print for a bathroom, where a gate standing in water feels right at home. The red-orange torii of Itsukushima Shrine rises from the water, its reflection lies beneath it, and mountains fill the back under a cream sky. It is simple, warm and calm.
About the artwork
Red-orange, the tones of the mountains and a soft cream sky do all the work here. The torii stands in the water and its reflection repeats the shape beneath it, so the composition has a quiet, mirrored balance. Mountains rise behind the gate, and the cream sky keeps the top of the picture light and open. Flat color and clean edges give it a retro travel-poster look. The lettering reads HIROSHIMA JAPAN and ITSUKUSHIMA SHRINE. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A gate in the water. The torii stands in the water itself, which makes it a natural subject for a bathroom wall.
- Mirrored by its reflection. The reflection doubles the gate's shape and gives the picture balance.
- Warm red-orange on cream. The gate's color stands out cleanly against the pale cream sky.
- Retro travel styling. HIROSHIMA JAPAN and ITSUKUSHIMA SHRINE are set like the caption on an old travel poster.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
In a bathroom, hang it where you see it from the tub or across from the mirror, away from direct splashes. Cream, sand or soft white walls and tiles suit its warm tones, as do teak or bamboo accessories. A 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" size fits beside a vanity or above a towel rail; go to 18" x 24" over the tub. A natural wood floating frame keeps it warm. Pair it with rust or red-orange towels to repeat the gate.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.

Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
