This Hanging Lake watercolor print shows the small jade-turquoise lake in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado, fed by Bridal Veil Falls spilling in thin white ribbons over a mossy ledge. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the lake, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine brown ink outlines the boardwalk planks, the railing and the limestone ledges. Thin ribbons of falling water are left as white paper, and the lake is a clear jade wash with a fallen tree trunk visible beneath the surface. The lake fills the middle ground and foreground on its travertine shelf, with the falls across the middle, seen from the boardwalk along the near shore. Steep red-brown cliffs of Glenwood Canyon rise behind, and the railed boardwalk runs along the left foreground. Early-summer greens set the season, and soft drips of green, gold and blue finish the edges. "HANGING LAKE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Sunken tree trunk. A fallen trunk lies plainly visible under the clear water.
- Quiet boardwalk. A few hikers stand still on the wooden boardwalk, taking in the view.
- Jade and red rock. Jade water and moss green sit against cream limestone, with red-brown canyon walls and fir green as accents.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The jade and moss tones bring a fresh note to a bathroom, a spa-like bedroom or a light-filled office. Give it to a Colorado hiker, or to someone who made the climb to the lake and wants a keepsake.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Hanging Lake? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Hanging Lake and Bridal Veil Falls, drawn in watercolor and ink rather than copied from one photo.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "HANGING LAKE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
