This Glacier National Park watercolor print shows Lake McDonald's clear water over red, green and blue pebbles, stretching toward snowy peaks in Montana. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the lake, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines circle each rounded stone under the water and trace the rocky mountain slopes, and thin turquoise washes let the pebbles show through. Snow on the summits is left as white paper. Turquoise and blue lake water, deep forest green and grey stone lead, with red, brown and green pebbles as accents. The lake runs from the foreground into the center of the print, seen from the pebble beach at Apgar on the south end looking northeast, with cedar and spruce forest on both shores and jagged snowy peaks behind. Moss-green drips run down the left edge, and red, violet and green splatter dots the bottom. "GLACIER" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rainbow pebble shallows. Colorful stones under clear water are the star of the foreground.
- Red-hulled tour boat. A white wooden boat with a red hull, red and yellow kayaks and two kids skipping stones add playful detail.
- Early summer peaks. Snow still clings to the jagged summits above the dark green forest.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Teal, evergreen and stone grey suit a lake-house living room, a kids' room, or a bedroom with blue textiles. A great gift for a family that spent a summer at the lake, a kayaker, or a friend checking parks off a bucket list.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Glacier National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Lake McDonald from Apgar, with the shoreline forest and mountains simplified into layered washes.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "GLACIER," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
