This Fort Lauderdale watercolor print shows the wooden Stranahan House among royal palms on the New River, with the Las Olas Riverwalk curving through the foreground. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Fort Lauderdale, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines outline the porch railings, shutters and palm fronds, and the turquoise river reflects the house and boats. Palm green and turquoise lead the palette, with the soft cream of the wooden house, white yachts, a yellow water taxi and a pale blue-green glass tower. The two-story house with a wraparound porch sits left of center, a large banyan and moored yachts are on the right, and tall condo towers rise behind. A curving brick walkway with sea grape shrubs fills the lower left. The scene has a sunny, dry-season feel, and the lower left edge melts into moss, terracotta and pink with long orange drips. "FORT LAUDERDALE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Water taxi. A yellow-roofed water taxi carries passengers down the river.
- Banyan tree. A big banyan with hanging roots shades the right side of the scene.
- Riverwalk couples. Walkers and a couple in straw hats stroll the brick path.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The tropical greens and cream tones suit a sunroom, a guest bedroom or a living room with rattan and light wood. It is a nice gift for boaters, winter visitors, or anyone who has spent a sunny season in South Florida.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Fort Lauderdale? No. It is an artistic interpretation, and the house and riverwalk are placed together in one view, with some details simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "FORT LAUDERDALE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
