This Florence watercolor print shows Brunelleschi's Dome and Giotto's Campanile above the terracotta rooftops, with Ponte Vecchio crossing the Arno River below. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Florence, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines pick out the white ribs of the dome, the round windows of its drum and the row of shops on Ponte Vecchio. Terracotta roofs are built from many small dabs, the Arno is turquoise with reflections, and the left edge melts into purple wisteria with a purple-brown drip. Tuscan terracotta and warm ochre walls set the base, with dark green cypress, silver-green olive, purple wisteria and soft blue-violet hills. The dome sits right of center in the upper middle with the bell tower just to its left and the crenellated tower of Palazzo Vecchio further left. A stone-railed terrace with cypress and olive trees fills the foreground in late spring. "FLORENCE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Panoramic rooftops. A high view looks across a sea of terracotta tiles toward the cathedral.
- Wisteria corner. Purple wisteria spills down a wall on the left side of the scene.
- Arno rowing boat. A crewed rowing boat glides under the shops of Ponte Vecchio.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Terracotta, ochre and olive green warm up a kitchen, dining room or Mediterranean-style living room. It is a meaningful gift for an art lover, a study-abroad alum or a couple remembering a Tuscan trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Florence? No. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Florence that captures the panorama rather than an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "FLORENCE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
