This Flatiron Building watercolor print shows the narrow, rounded prow of the landmark between Fifth Avenue and Broadway in New York City, seen from Madison Square in spring. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the scene, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines detail the rows of arched windows and the deep cornice, and the young spring leaves are built from layered dots of color. The palette pairs the building's cream terracotta with fresh green, sky blue and the soft blue of the distant skyline, with yellow taxis and pink-red tulips as accents. The building stands in the center, viewed from the plaza at the south-west corner of Madison Square looking south; Madison Square Park with its trees, a bronze statue and tulip beds sits on the left, brick and cast-iron buildings line the right, and Lower Manhattan with One World Trade Center rises far behind. Pink, orange and green washes drip from the lower left, and the edges break into colorful splatter on a white paper border. "NEW YORK" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Plaza café life. People sit at green café tables on the plaza, next to a food cart with a striped umbrella.
- Spring tulips. Stone planters and park beds are full of pink and red tulips.
- Famous wedge shape. The view is centered on the building's slim prow, right where the two avenues split.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The cream, green and soft blue palette brightens an entryway, kitchen or office with light wood and white walls. It suits a spring housewarming, or a friend who once worked or lived near Madison Square. Pair it with our New York City watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Flatiron Building? No. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the Flatiron District in spring, not a literal record of the street.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "NEW YORK," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
