This Essaouira watercolor print shows the Skala du Port watchtower and sea walls above a harbor packed with cobalt blue fishing boats, with the Mogador Islands out to sea. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Essaouira, not an exact view of the town.
About the artwork
The watchtower and walls are layered in sandy gold-brown, with fine ink outlining each block of stone. The wooden boats are painted in deep cobalt, and the harbor is turquoise with reflections of the walls. Essaouira cobalt, sandy rampart gold and whitewashed medina houses make up the palette, with red-brown fishing nets as the accent. The square tower with battlements stands right of center, a row of bronze cannons lines the wall, and the Atlantic and the Mogador Islands open on the far left. The air feels breezy and a little hazy, like early summer on the coast. "ESSAOUIRA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Cobalt blue boats. Rows of blue fishing boats crowd the harbor.
- Mending nets. Fishermen sit on the quay repairing red nets.
- Cannons on the wall. A figure in a djellaba walks past old cannons on the rampart.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cobalt and sandy tones suit a Mediterranean-style kitchen, a bathroom or a bright hallway. A good gift for a Morocco trip memory or anyone who loves fishing harbors.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Essaouira? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Skala du Port and the harbor, painted to fit the ramparts, boats and islands into one view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ESSAOUIRA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
