This Devils Tower watercolor print shows the flat-topped tower of vertical rock columns rising above pine forest and prairie in Wyoming, seen from meadows along the Belle Fourche River. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the monument, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine grey ink lines the tower's vertical columns, which are washed in grey and buff with blue-violet shadows. Rust-red bluffs are washed in orange, prairie grass is brushed in gold, and the river is blue with highlights left as white paper. The tower stands at the center of the upper half above its skirt of fallen rock, seen from the southeast. Ponderosa pines climb toward its base, and the winding river edged with golden cottonwoods and tall grass fills the foreground. Early-autumn color sets the season, and the left edge dissolves into pink and orange streaks with long drips. "DEVILS TOWER" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Prairie dogs and deer. Two prairie dogs sit on their mound and a white-tailed deer stands by the river.
- Golden cottonwoods. Cottonwoods turning gold line the riverbank in the foreground.
- Column texture. Fine vertical ink lines give the tower its fluted, ribbed look against a soft blue sky.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gold, pine green and grey suit a western-style living room, a den or a study with leather and dark wood. It is a good gift for a road-tripper who crossed Wyoming or a fan of national monuments.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Devils Tower? No. This is an artistic interpretation of Devils Tower and its surroundings, painted in a loose watercolor style rather than as an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "DEVILS TOWER," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
