This St. Thomas watercolor print shows Charlotte Amalie and the red Fort Christian beside the harbor, seen from a hillside above town. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the St. Thomas waterfront, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines and layered transparent color describe red-orange roofs and pastel walls. The blue harbor keeps streaks of white paper for light, pink bougainvillea blooms in a large wash at lower left, and the edges dissolve into pink, blue and yellow dots with drips at both lower corners. Sea blue, red-orange tiles and bougainvillea pink lead, with cream colonial walls and palm green as accents. Looking south from the hill, Fort Christian and its clock tower stand center left, colonial houses with red roofs line the waterfront, and the harbor with sailboats and green islands opens on the right. A stone wall and flowers fill the foreground in the sunny dry season. "ST. THOMAS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Seaplane landing. A small seaplane touches down on the harbor among the yachts.
- Red fort clock tower. Fort Christian's red walls and clock tower anchor the waterfront.
- Bougainvillea in bloom. A thick mass of pink flowers spills over the hillside foreground.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Coral pink and harbor blue suit a living room, a bedroom or a sunny entryway with white or cream walls. A cheerful gift after a cruise stop in Charlotte Amalie or for someone who calls the Virgin Islands home.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of St. Thomas? No. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Charlotte Amalie and its harbor, with buildings and islands simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "ST. THOMAS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
