This Capitola, California watercolor print shows the Venetian Court, a cluster of Mediterranean-style stucco cottages in coral, lemon yellow, sky blue and pink set right on the sand. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the beach town, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The water carries transparent blue washes with long reflections of the painted houses, and fine brown-grey ink outlines the wharf planks, pilings and stucco rows. Sea blue, coral pink, lemon yellow and sky blue set the palette, with weathered wharf brown and pink hanging flower baskets. The view looks back toward the beach from the Capitola Wharf, with the cottages in the right middle ground and Capitola Beach, its umbrellas, the mouth of Soquel Creek and the old wooden railroad trestle to the left. Houses climb the bluffs behind, and the wooded Santa Cruz Mountains fade into soft haze on a warm midsummer day. A blue drip falls from the lower left, with multicolor splatter around the border. "CAPITOLA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Painted cottage row. The coral, yellow and blue Venetian Court is the bright heart of the scene.
- Pelicans on pilings. Pelicans perch on the wharf posts while a paddleboarder glides by.
- Wharf-level viewpoint. Planks, railing and a green lamppost with flowers put you right on the pier.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Capitola, California? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Venetian Court and Capitola Beach, made to capture the town's color and summer energy rather than an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "CAPITOLA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
