This Cape May watercolor print shows a pink Victorian painted lady with a round turret in the Cape May Historic District, with a row of pastel houses running toward the sea. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Cape May, not an exact view of the town.
About the artwork
Very detailed ink work picks out the gingerbread trim, fish-scale shingles and pointed turret, and the pink walls are laid in thin washes. Pastel pink, green and hydrangea blue lead the palette, with mint, lavender and butter-yellow neighbors and a white picket fence. The pink Victorian fills the left half of the print, and the other houses line the street into the distance. The sea and a small lighthouse sit on the horizon at right, and the foreground holds a white fence, a black gas lamp and hydrangeas. It is late spring into early summer, and the left edge melts into pink, blue and purple drips. "CAPE MAY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Gingerbread trim. Lacy woodwork and scalloped shingles are drawn in fine, patient ink.
- Pastel row. Mint, lavender and butter-yellow houses line up behind the pink turret house.
- Seaside street life. A horse-drawn trolley, two cyclists in hats and a porch rocker add charm.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Soft pastels brighten a girl's room, a guest bedroom or a sunny breakfast nook. It is a sweet gift for a bed-and-breakfast lover or a family with Jersey Shore summers.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Cape May? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Cape May, and a few elements, like the lighthouse on the horizon, are rearranged for the scene.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "CAPE MAY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
