A minimalist wall art print of five organic black moon phases stacked down a soft greige ground, each shape slightly irregular as if cut by hand.
About the artwork
Five solid black shapes are stacked down the middle, but unlike a textbook moon chart none of them is perfectly round. The centre shape is a squarish, pebble-like disc, flatter along its upper right. Above it a thin crescent and a thicker crescent both open upward; below it a thicker and then a thinner crescent open downward, so the column mirrors itself top to bottom. The black is completely flat with no grain, and the edges swell and lean a little as if cut freehand. Broad empty margins on both sides keep the column calm.
Why you'll love it
- Moon phases, softened. The freehand shapes feel relaxed rather than technical.
- Deep, flat black. Strong contrast against a gentle greige ground.
- Made for narrow walls. The tall column fills a slim space neatly.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it above a bed, beside a mirror or in a narrow hallway where the vertical stack can lead the eye. Greige walls, boucle, travertine and pale oak all suit it, and a black or white frame keeps it crisp. It pairs well with the classic geometric moon phases design in the same range, one precise and one hand-cut.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Are the shapes perfect circles? No. They are deliberately irregular, like hand-cut paper.
What colour is the background? A soft greige, a light grey with a warm beige-pink tint.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
