An abstract botanical wall art print of a single black cut-paper leaf shape on warm cream, set out like a vintage exhibition poster with serif lettering above and below.
About the artwork
One black shape takes up most of the sheet: a broad base that splits into seven rounded lobes reaching up and out, like a frond of seaweed or a many-fingered leaf. Its edges are smooth and soft, as if cut in one pass with scissors, and the tallest lobe ends in a small notched tip. Above it, “LE DESIGN” is set in large italic serif capitals with “galerie de conception d'affiches” in smaller italics underneath. Below the shape, “L’EXPOSITION PARIS” and “1948” complete the poster layout. Everything sits on a pale grey-cream ground with even margins.
Why you'll love it
- One shape, big presence. A single silhouette that fills the frame without clutter.
- Poster-style lettering. The serif type gives it the look of an old exhibition bill.
- Black on cream. Neutral enough for any room, crisp enough to stand out.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it in a living room, bathroom or bedroom where you want a relaxed, gallery-poster feel. It works with rattan, linen and terracotta pots, and with a black or natural frame. Pair it with the three black birds cut-out design in the same range for a matched set of paper-cut silhouettes.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does the text say? “LE DESIGN” and “galerie de conception d'affiches” at the top, “L’EXPOSITION PARIS” and “1948” at the bottom.
Is it a real leaf? No, it is an abstract cut-paper shape that suggests seaweed or a lobed leaf.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
