This Berlin watercolor print shows the Brandenburg Gate crowned by the Quadriga, with the Berlin TV Tower rising behind it on the right. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Berlin, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Linden trees on both sides are built from dense green and yellow leaf dabs, and the paved square is washed in blue-violet with soft tree shadows. Sandstone beige and linden green lead the palette, with verdigris on the Quadriga and guardhouse roofs, pale pink edges and the brick red of the Rotes Rathaus. The gate sits dead center, seen from above along the avenue, with a guardhouse on each side and the Berlin Cathedral among the rooftops behind. Rows of trees and old street lamps line the square in the foreground. Pink and yellow-green drips and multicolor splatters fade the edges into a white paper border with an early summer feel. "BERLIN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Pedicab and cyclists. A bicycle taxi and two riders cross the square in front of the gate.
- Classic Berlin lamps. Old-style street lamps frame the foreground on both sides.
- Verdigris chariot. The green copper Quadriga on top stands out against the pale sandstone.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Fresh greens and sandstone tones fit a modern living room, a home office or a bright hallway. A good gift for someone who lived in Berlin or a friend planning a first trip to Germany.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Berlin? No. It is an artistic interpretation seen from a raised viewpoint. The cathedral and the red town hall are brought into the background, so the layout is rearranged a little.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BERLIN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
