This Beaufort, South Carolina watercolor print shows a white antebellum mansion under moss-draped live oaks, looking over the salt marsh and the Beaufort River. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Beaufort, South Carolina, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines pick out porch columns, shutters and the masts of a shrimp boat, while quick yellow-green strokes build up the marsh grass. Tidal creeks wind through in blue washes with soft reflections, and the lower edge dissolves into ochre and moss drips. Spartina gold and moss green lead the palette, with river blue, mansion white, silver-gray Spanish moss and a teal shrimp boat roof. The two-story porched mansion sits left of center, more homes and palms line the shore to the right, and a long wooden pier and the shrimp boat sit on the right. The foreground is a golden marsh crossed by a winding creek in early fall. "BEAUFORT" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Heron in the marsh. A gray heron stands still in the spartina grass.
- Carriage ride. A horse-drawn carriage carries visitors along the riverside road.
- Lowcountry gold. Yellow-green marsh grass gives the print its warm Lowcountry tone.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Gold, moss green and soft blue make it a natural fit for a living room, a screened porch or a bedroom with linen, wicker and white trim. Give it to someone who has strolled Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, or as a housewarming gift for a new home in the Lowcountry.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Beaufort, South Carolina? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Beaufort waterfront rather than a portrait of one specific house.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BEAUFORT," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
