A Baku Azerbaijan travel poster with the three Flame Towers curving up over the city, their blue glass skins catching a hard highlight. Below them sandstone apartment blocks and domed civic buildings step down the hillside to the seafront, where the Caspian churns dark blue and white-crested against a curving stone promenade.
About the artwork
Two textures do most of the work here. The city is flat vector: crisp sand, buff and pale grey rectangles, with each tower rendered as a tapering flame shape over a fine blue grid of glazing and a single white starburst on one pane. The sea, by contrast, is heavily drawn, with overlapping wave shapes in navy, denim and steel, scribbled white foam lines and dozens of small sparkle marks. A curved band of grey paving slabs anchors the bottom left corner. The lettering reads BAKU above AZERBAIJAN.
Why you'll love it
- Archival fine art paper or gallery-wrapped matte canvas, pigment inks
- Thirteen sizes, 8 x 12 up to 30 x 40 inches, plus A4 to A1
- Framed canvas ready to hang in four wood finishes
- Warm sandstone city against a cold, heavily textured sea in the lower half
Where it works at home
The mix of warm sandstone and cold sea blue gives this one a wide range, so it hangs comfortably in a grey or navy room as easily as a beige one. The busy water along the bottom rewards a spot you pass close to, such as a hallway, a stair return, or the wall beside a desk.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
What are the three curved blue towers? They are Baku's Flame Towers, the tapering glass high-rises that stand on the ridge above the older city. Their silhouette is what makes this view read as Baku rather than any other city on the Caspian.
