This Austin watercolor print shows the Texas State Capitol at the end of Congress Avenue, with the Congress Avenue Bridge and Lady Bird Lake in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Austin, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines detail the dome, the low concrete arches of the bridge and the glass grids of the towers. Live oak canopies are layered in olive green, the lake is turquoise with horizontal strokes, and bluebonnets are dotted in blue-violet. The left edge dissolves into blue-violet washes with a drip at the lower left, under a wide blue sky with white paper at the top. Pink-red granite, blue glass and turquoise water set the palette, with bluebonnet violet, oak green and red and yellow kayaks as accents. The Capitol sits in the center between the towers lining Congress Avenue, including the Frost Bank Tower, with kayaks, a paddleboarder and a curving lakeside trail of bluebonnets in front in early spring. "AUSTIN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Bluebonnet trail. A carpet of blue-violet bluebonnets lines the curving lakeside path.
- Paddling the lake. Kayaks and a stand-up paddleboarder move across Lady Bird Lake.
- Active lakeside. Runners and a cyclist share the trail under spreading live oaks.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise, olive green and bluebonnet violet suit a family room, office or bright entryway with natural textures. It is a fun gift for a new Austin resident, a live-music fan or a Texan living out of state.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Austin? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Austin in watercolor style. Some details are simplified, and the Capitol appears smaller among the towers than you might expect.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "AUSTIN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
