This Astoria, Oregon watercolor print shows the Astoria-Megler Bridge spanning the Columbia River, with Victorian hillside houses and old cannery piers below. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Astoria, Oregon, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink details the bridge's steel truss and piers and the porches and bay windows of the Victorian houses, while the river is pale blue with white reflections left unpainted and mist hangs over the hills. Blue-gray river and hills set the base, with the green bridge, sage and mustard houses, pink rhododendrons, a red trolley and orange-gold fall trees as accents. The bridge crosses the upper half with its tall arched truss on the right, and a large cargo ship rests midriver. Victorian houses climb the slope in the left foreground, a steep street drops toward the water with an old red trolley, and wooden piers with sea lions sit on the right. Misty forested hills close the background in early fall. "ASTORIA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.

Styling it at home
Misty blues, sage and soft pink suit a coastal cottage, a bedroom with painted wood or a hallway gallery. Give it to a fan of the Oregon coast or someone who once lived on the hill above the river.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Astoria, Oregon? No. It is an artistic interpretation, and some details are rearranged, including where the trolley runs.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ASTORIA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
