This American Samoa National Park watercolor print shows Pola Island, a sheer volcanic sea stack, rising straight out of the ocean beside Vatia Bay. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the place, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the basalt walls, thatched fale roofs and palm fronds, and clear turquoise washes let the fringing reef show through. Deep ocean blue shifts to turquoise over the reef, set against rainforest green, charcoal basalt and straw-gold thatch. Pola Island stands at center right, capped with forest, with the jagged Cockscomb Point ridge to the left, seen from the shore of Vatia Bay on Tutuila in American Samoa. Dark volcanic rocks, coral sand, leaning coconut palms and two Samoan fale houses fill the foreground under a dry-season sky. The left edge dissolves into green runs with long drips, and white paper is saved for waves on the reef. "AMERICAN SAMOA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Sea stack centerpiece. Pola Island's vertical cliffs give the print a strong, simple shape that reads from across a room.
- Village life details. A wooden outrigger canoe, villagers wading the reef and frigatebirds circling the cliffs add a human scale.
- South Pacific blues. Layered ocean and reef tones make this one of the brightest prints in the national parks set.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blues and tropical greens work in a beach-house living room, a sunny bedroom, or a bathroom with white tile. Give it to someone with Samoan roots, a traveler who made the long trip to Tutuila, or a collector working through every U.S. national park.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of American Samoa National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Pola Island and Vatia Bay, drawn in a loose watercolor style rather than as a precise record of the shoreline.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "AMERICAN SAMOA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
