This Albuquerque watercolor print shows San Felipe de Neri Church above Old Town Plaza, with striped hot air balloons drifting toward the Sandia Mountains. It's an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Albuquerque, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Earthy adobe walls are built from warm, mottled washes, and fine ink lines outline white Gothic windows and the steeple tips. Cottonwoods are dabbed in yellow and green, with orange and blue drips running down both sides. The palette blends adobe brown, cottonwood gold and Sandia violet, with red chile ristras, turquoise doors and multicolored balloons as accents. The twin-towered church sits left of center and rises into the upper half, seen from above the plaza, with adobe storefronts hung with ristras on the left, a white gazebo among trees on the right, and the violet mountains behind. Golden cottonwoods place it in October. "ALBUQUERQUE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Balloons over the Sandias. Several striped hot air balloons float in the sky above the mountain ridge.
- Red chile ristras. Strings of red chiles hang from wooden porches, and a cart sells roasted chiles nearby.
- Plaza gazebo. A white bandstand and benches give the square a calm, small-town center.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The adobe brown, gold and turquoise palette works in a Southwestern living room, a kitchen or an entryway with warm clay tones. It is a meaningful gift for a New Mexico native, a balloon-season visitor or someone moving away from Albuquerque.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Albuquerque? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Albuquerque that combines the church, plaza and balloons into one composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ALBUQUERQUE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
