This Acadia National Park watercolor print shows Bass Harbor Head Light on a ledge of pink granite above the Gulf of Maine. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the Maine coast, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace every crack in the granite and the roof of the keeper's house, while layered washes build the sea and white paper is left for the surf. The palette pairs pink granite and turquoise water with spruce green, warmed by orange autumn leaves and a brick-red roof. The white lighthouse with its black lantern stands on the cliff at upper right, seen from the shore rocks below, with a wooden stairway running down the rocks. Tide pools and seaweed fill the foreground, and low spruce islands sit on the horizon. The bottom edge melts into pink, violet and moss-green runs with drips and splatter. "ACADIA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Pink granite detail. The ink picks out each seam and fracture in the rocks along this rugged shore.
- Lobster boat offshore. A white lobster boat, two gulls and three hikers on the rocks give the scene a working-coast feel.
- Early autumn color. Orange and gold leaves among the dark spruce mark the season without overpowering the sea blues.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The pink, turquoise and spruce tones suit a coastal living room, a bedroom with white linens, or a blue-and-sand bathroom wall. It makes a good gift for a lighthouse lover, a summer visitor to Mount Desert Island, or anyone ticking national parks off a bucket list.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Acadia National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Bass Harbor Head Light, and some details, like how much of the keeper's house shows through the trees, are simplified or rearranged.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "ACADIA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
