Nursery Wall Art

What's in the collection

A nursery is designed around a person who cannot tell you what they think of it, so the art has to work for two audiences at once. It should be quiet enough for a parent at three in the morning, and clear enough for a child as their eyesight develops. Everything selected for this room is chosen on that basis: soft, low-contrast colour rather than primary brights, one or two recognisable shapes per print rather than dense detail, and nothing so busy that it stimulates at bedtime. Choose a theme to start from: woodland nursery wall art with bears, bunnies and fawns, safari nursery wall art with baby elephants and giraffes, or farm nursery wall art with geese, ducklings and little red barns.

One house style

Safety sets the rules above a cot. Hang nothing directly over the sleeping space, or if you do, use canvas rather than glass and fix it with a proper wall anchor rather than a picture hook. The wall opposite the cot is the better choice anyway, because that is what a child actually looks at while lying awake. Keep the arrangement low, around three feet from the floor, so the room still reads well once they are standing and walking, and it can stay in place for years. When the nursery becomes a bedroom, our kids room wall art picks up where these leave off, and the wall art size guide helps plan the move.

Sizes, paper and framing

Every design is offered on archival matte paper and on matte canvas, either stretched on a wooden bar or set in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. Size options are listed on each product page, including A-series sizes for European frames where the format allows. Printed with pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
