A Yangon travel poster standing on the marble terrace at the foot of the great gilded stupa. The bell-shaped dome swells above the smaller shrines, its tapering spire and jewelled tip cutting into a clean turquoise sky, while tall fan palms lean in from both edges to frame the whole thing.
About the artwork
Gold is used with restraint: the stupa is built from bands of pale champagne, honey and deep amber that suggest gilded plates without going metallic, and the surrounding shrine roofs repeat the range with fine line work on their tiered crowns and flame-shaped finials. The sky is a flat turquoise wash and the terrace a bleached ivory. Dark fan palms fill the left and right thirds, and one small walking figure gives the scale away. Lettering reads YANGON above MYANMAR.
Why you'll love it
- Symmetrical framing by palm fronds makes this an unusually calm landmark composition.
- Warm gold against cool turquoise is the whole colour scheme, which keeps it simple to match.
- The lone walking figure sets the scale and stops the stupa reading as a small object.
- Works as a gold accent where you would otherwise not risk one.
Where it works at home
The gold picks up brass hardware, rattan and honey-toned timber, so it looks intentional above a bed with a cane headboard or over a sideboard with warm metal handles. Its vertical symmetry hangs well alone on a narrow pier of wall. Natural wood reinforces the warmth; white keeps it tropical.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
Is the whole temple complex in the frame? No. This is a ground-level view from the terrace rather than an aerial one, so you see the main gilded stupa, a handful of surrounding gold shrines and the walkway between them. Much of the wider complex sits outside the frame.
