This Tybee Island watercolor print shows the black-and-white Tybee Island Light Station rising behind white keepers' cottages, seen from the sea-oat dunes. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the light station, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The tower is laid in flat color, black below and white above, with cool blue shading and fine ink on the lantern. Oaks and palms are built in layered olive greens, the sand is left as paper with pale violet shadows, and the left edge fades into gold-gray washes with a long drip. The palette is sea-oat gold, coastal olive green, lighthouse black and white and pale sky blue. Looking inland from the dunes, the lighthouse stands in the middle ground on the left, white wooden cottages with porches and a picket fence sit among palms and oaks at its base, a road crosses the scene, and a sandy path through sea oats with a wooden fence fills the foreground. Mild spring greens set the season. "TYBEE ISLAND" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Coming off the beach. A family of three walks the sandy path back from the shore toward the light station.
- Keepers' cottages. White porches and a picket fence give the scene a small-town coastal warmth.
- Bikes and pelicans. Three cyclists ride past on the road as pelicans fly overhead.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gold, olive and black and white suit a farmhouse-style living room, a hallway or a guest bedroom with natural textures. A nice gift for someone who heads out to Tybee for summer weekends.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Tybee Island? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Tybee Island light station from the dunes, with cottages and trees drawn loosely.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "TYBEE ISLAND," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
