A vintage western print: a feathered war bonnet drawn in sepia line above the words STAY WILD in small capitals, on a cream ground.
About the artwork
The same drawing as the brown version, the right way round — sepia line on cream instead of cream on brown. Drawn positive rather than reversed, the feathers gain their internal detail back: each one carries a centre quill and fine barb lines, which the reversed version deliberately loses. This is the more detailed of the two and the quieter one on a wall.
Why you'll love it
- Feather detail restored. Quills and barbs are drawn in, not just outlines.
- Light on the wall. Cream ground keeps a small room feeling open.
- Quiet lettering. Small caps, widely tracked, letting the drawing lead.
- Engraved line only. Every tone is hatching, the way a mail-order catalogue printed it.
- Built as a set. Every design in the western series shares one palette and one paper, so any combination lines up.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hung beside the brown version the pair works as one design in two keys. On its own the cream version sits comfortably with the rest of the sepia prints in the range. Natural oak keeps it warm; black frames supply the edge the pale ground lacks.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" and up — the barb lines inside each feather are fine and need the size.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is the headdress in the drawing? A feathered war bonnet, drawn as a generic form — it does not depict the regalia of any particular nation, and it is a new illustration printed to order, not a reproduction of an object.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.

Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
