This Pinnacles Desert Australia poster looks across a field of pale gold limestone spires rising straight out of orange sand. One tall pinnacle dominates the right of the frame, casting a long blue shadow, while hundreds of smaller pillars scatter back toward a thin strip of ocean on the horizon.
About the artwork
A flat vector travel-poster illustration built on a small, deliberate palette: a deep petrol-blue sky at the top graduating to lighter blue at the horizon, then a broad expanse of amber, apricot and pale gold sand. The spires are modelled with pitted texture in cream, tan and burnt orange, and every shadow is drawn in the same cool blue, which is what makes the desert read as hot. The foreground dune is covered in fine parallel ripple lines that lead the eye up toward the tallest pinnacle. The typography is printed in white across the sky: PINNACLES DESERT in wide capitals above a smaller AUSTRALIA. A white margin surrounds the image. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A genuinely warm print. Amber and burnt orange fill most of the sheet, so it adds heat to a room that reads cool or grey.
- Blue shadows do the work. Every shadow is drawn in cool blue against the gold, giving the whole scene its high-noon contrast.
- Ripple detail underfoot. The fine parallel lines across the foreground dune reward a close look and keep the lower half from going flat.
- An unusual landscape. Limestone spires standing in open sand are a strange, sculptural subject that few travel prints cover.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the warmest print in the set, so let the wall stay quiet: chalk white, bone or a pale greige keeps the amber glowing rather than competing. A black frame is the strongest choice here, since it echoes the deep blue sky and sharpens the spires; espresso works too. It carries a west-facing living room beautifully in late light, and pairs with tan leather, a chunky cream wool throw, unglazed terracotta and dried grasses in a tall vessel.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The ripple lines and spire texture hold up at any size, but 20" x 30" and above lets the tallest pinnacle carry a wall on its own.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Is the strip at the horizon the sea? Yes — a narrow band of darker blue sits behind the furthest spires, so the print shows the desert meeting the coast rather than open inland country.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
