A tree ring wood print for a bedroom that leans warm. One round slice of wood fills the frame edge to edge, its growth rings drawn in orange and brown, with the label 年輪, "NENRIN", which means tree rings. It is a picture of time counted one year at a time.
About the artwork
The palette is warm orange and brown, the color of freshly cut timber. A single round cross-section fills the sheet, so its concentric rings become the whole composition, with no background showing around them. The label carries 年輪, read "NENRIN" and meaning tree rings, along with a short Japanese line, 年輪は時の記憶. It is a minimalist, Japandi idea: one natural object, looked at closely. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- One slice, full frame. The wood cross-section fills the sheet, so the grain reads large and clear from across the bedroom.
- A word that matches the picture. 年輪 means tree rings, so the label names exactly what you see.
- Warm without being loud. Orange-brown wood tones warm a white or beige room and still read as natural material.
- Circles that settle the eye. Concentric rings lead the eye inward in a slow loop, a restful shape to face from bed.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Set it on a cream, sand or soft terracotta wall in the bedroom, over a walnut or teak dresser. Rust or ochre bedding picks up the orange, and white linen keeps it from getting heavy. At 18" x 24" it sits well above a nightstand; 24" x 36" gives the rings room to read from the doorway. Pair it with a dried branch in a tall stoneware vase.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does NENRIN mean? NENRIN is the reading of 年輪, the Japanese word for tree rings, the growth rings you see in a cut log.
Does the orange suit a gray bedroom? It does, as long as the gray is warm or light. Against gray, the orange-brown grain becomes the warm point of the room.
Which frame should I choose for a wood-grain print? A natural solid wood floating frame echoes the grain, espresso deepens the brown, and white or black gives a cleaner edge.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
