A Koh Phi Phi travel poster from the clifftop viewpoint, high enough to see both bays at once. Two curves of white sand meet at a narrow isthmus, the near beach lined with a row of moored boats, and the whole island falls away below in dense jungle. Magenta bougainvillea spills over the rock in front of you.
About the artwork
The composition is built downwards in three layers. Closest is foliage — fanned palm leaves, ferns and hot pink bougainvillea drawn leaf by leaf against a rocky ledge. Below that the island falls away in deep forest green with a scatter of pale roofs. Beyond, the water opens into a broad band of turquoise that pales almost to white over the sandbar, with limestone cliffs and hazy hills stacked at the top. The lettering reads KOH PHI PHI above THAILAND.
Why you'll love it
- A saturated, high-energy image — the greens and magentas do a lot of work in a plain room.
- Paper, matte canvas or framed canvas with the hanging hardware fitted.
- Thirteen sizes in inch and A-series formats.
- Printed after ordering, never held in stock.
Where it works at home
This has the most colour of the three Thai coast prints, so it wants a plain wall and some breathing space rather than a crowded gallery arrangement. A hallway or stairwell suits the vertical drop of the composition, and the bougainvillea pink picks up terracotta pots, kilim rugs and warm rattan. Keep it off patterned wallpaper.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
Where in Koh Phi Phi is this view from? It is the classic clifftop viewpoint on Phi Phi Don looking down over the sandy neck of land that joins the two halves of the island, with both bays in frame. That elevated angle is why the boats appear as small shapes along the beach rather than in the foreground.
