This Folly Beach watercolor print shows the weathered Morris Island Lighthouse standing alone in the surf across Lighthouse Inlet, seen from the dunes at the north end of the island. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the scene, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The tower is rendered in rusty brick brown with faded black bands, patchy and worn like real weathered masonry. The sea is blue with white surf left as paper, sea oats are done in yellow-green dry brush, and the left edge fades into gold-orange washes with a long blue drip. The palette is sea blue, sand beige and dune-grass green, accented by the rust-brown tower. Looking across the inlet, the lighthouse stands in the waves right of center, a low sandbar lies beyond it, bleached driftwood rests on the shore in the middle ground on the left, and a sandy path through sea oats with a sand fence fills the foreground. Late-summer grass and soft sun set the season. "FOLLY BEACH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Weathered lighthouse. The rust-brown tower with faded bands looks properly worn by wind and tide.
- Driftwood on the shore. Silver-white driftwood trunks give the north end a wild, open feel.
- Pelicans and surfers. Pelicans glide overhead as a surfer heads into the water and a couple walks the surf line.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The sandy, rust and blue palette fits a relaxed living room, a beach-cottage bedroom or an office with warm wood and cream. A good gift for someone who has walked the north end of Folly to see the lighthouse.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Folly Beach? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the lighthouse and inlet; the top of the tower, a distant boat and the far shoreline are drawn freely.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "FOLLY BEACH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
