A modern cowboy wall art print: a brown cowboy hat floats above a navy western shirt and a fringed brown suede vest, with only bright lemon yellow where the face should be.
About the artwork
The joke is the missing man: the hat sits in the top third, the collar and vest in the bottom third, and the empty yellow in between does the work of the face. The shirt has pointed collar tips, cream piping and pearl snaps, and the vest is laced along its edges. Thick gouache strokes model the felt of the hat and the texture of the suede. It reads as a portrait of cowboy style rather than of a cowboy.
Why you'll love it
Western, but modern. Clever enough for a city apartment.
Bold yellow. Lifts a dark wall or hallway.
A gift for country fans. Without the dust and cactus clichés.
Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it in an entryway, a den or a home bar. Natural oak suits the suede tones; black frames sharpen the navy. It works alone at 18" x 24".
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is there any writing on it? No. The print has no text.
Why is there no face? Leaving the face out is the point of the design: the clothes tell the story.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.
If it arrives damaged, misprinted or simply wrong, email us within 14 days with photos of the piece and the packaging. We reprint and reship it free, and there is nothing to send back.
Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed.
Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
How long will it take to arrive?
Each piece is printed after you order — 3–5 business days to print and finish, then 4–8 business days in transit. Shipping is free across the United States and a flat $5 everywhere else.
Will the colours match what I see on screen?
Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
What size should I order?
As a rule, a single print should cover about two thirds of the furniture it hangs above. Our Wall Art Size Guide has the measurements room by room, and every size available for this design is listed in the Size menu on this page.
