Arashiyama bamboo grove wall art looking straight down the path, where the culms rise past the top of the frame on both sides and the light comes through the canopy in patches on the dirt.
About the artwork
Vertical line work carries the whole image. Bamboo stems are drawn in five or six greens, from near-yellow where the sun catches them to deep bottle green in shadow, and the segments are marked with fine horizontal ticks that give the grove its rhythm. Low woven fences of dried bamboo run along both sides in warm straw and ochre, and the path itself is a sunlit ribbon of terracotta earth leading to a bright gap at the far end.
Why you'll love it
- A wall of vertical green that makes a room feel taller.
- Warm straw fences against cool green — more colour range than a plain bamboo print.
- Botanical subject with a specific place behind it, not generic foliage.
- The natural companion piece to the Fushimi Inari torii print.
Where it works at home
The vertical rhythm suits a narrow wall, a stairwell, or the panel between two doors. In a bedroom it reads calm and green; in a bathroom the straw tones warm up under yellow light. Hang it opposite the Fushimi Inari print for a green-and-vermilion Kyoto pair, or with the Ubud terrace print for a room built around greens.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
How is this different from the other Kyoto prints? This is the bamboo path at Arashiyama. The other Kyoto pieces in the series show the Fushimi Inari torii tunnel and the golden pavilion at Kinkaku-ji.
