This Amelia Island watercolor print shows a row of white Fernandina shrimp trawlers moored in the harbor, with the red-brick storefronts of Centre Street behind them. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the Fernandina Beach waterfront, not an exact view.
About the artwork
White hulls are shaded in blue-violet with streaks of rust, and the masts and rigging are drawn in very fine ink. Turquoise nets are loose washes, the hulls reflect in vertical strokes left partly as paper, and the left edge fades into orange-pink with several drips along the bottom. The palette is harbor blue, hull white and historic brick red, with turquoise net accents. The trawlers with tall outrigger booms line up diagonally into the distance, the Victorian brick storefronts of Centre Street and palms sit in the middle ground on the left, Amelia River marsh stretches off to the right, and a dock piled with nets, rope and traps fills the lower left. It is a sunny late-spring day. "AMELIA ISLAND" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Working harbor detail. Fine rigging, coiled rope and stacked traps make it rich to look at up close.
- Mending the nets. A fisherman bends over his nets on the dock beside the traps.
- Pelicans and flag. Two brown pelicans sit on pilings, and a small American flag hangs by a storefront.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Brick red, white and harbor blue suit a den, a kitchen or a living room with navy, leather or reclaimed wood. A fine gift for someone who loves historic downtown Fernandina Beach or comes from a fishing family.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Amelia Island? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Fernandina Beach harbor; a few figures and dock details are rearranged.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "AMELIA ISLAND," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
