This Ambergris Caye watercolor print shows a row of long wooden piers ending in thatched palapa huts, stretching over clear shallows toward the Belize Barrier Reef. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the island, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Turquoise shallows are layered over darker patches of sea grass, with white paper left for the bright ripples. The thatched roofs are drawn in fine ink lines with straw-colored washes. Seen from the beach on the eastern shore, the piers run out to sea in the middle ground, while a thin white line of surf marks the reef before the water deepens to blue. Coconut palms and a thatched bar line the left side, and a sand path with a golf cart and picket fence fills the foreground on a warm dry-season day. Blue and yellow splashes with a drip at the lower left fade into a white paper border. "AMBERGRIS CAYE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Overwater palapas. Round thatched huts at the end of each pier give the scene its classic Caribbean look.
- Reef line on the horizon. A band of white surf shows where the shallows meet the deep blue beyond the reef.
- Island life details. A golf cart on the sand path, a pelican on a post and a dive boat flying a red flag fill the scene.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise water, palm green and straw yellow brighten a coastal living room, a guest room or a home office that needs a vacation mood. A good pick for a diver who explored the Belize reef, or as a keepsake from a family trip to San Pedro.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Ambergris Caye? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of the Ambergris Caye shoreline, so the piers, huts and reef line are simplified for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "AMBERGRIS CAYE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
