Seafood Wall Art

What's in the collection

The tin is the subject. One opens on a hot pink and red label from Bologna, another on turquoise and cobalt with a ribbon reading sardines in pure olive oil from Portugal, both drawn by hand with the fish packed in rows. Beside them sit two blue mackerel on a pink panel behind orange stripes, three silver-blue fish laid across wavy beige paper, three more in yellow, red and green over red and white stripes, and a matchbox label with a single painted sardine under the words olive oil. It is the quietest, most collectable corner of the food and drink wall art range.

One house style

This group leans vintage where the rest of the range leans graphic. The fish are painted rather than drawn flat, with visible brushwork and the softened color of an old label, set against striped or textured paper that looks aged rather than printed. Nothing here shouts in large type. That makes the prints easy to live with in a room already full of pattern, and easy to hang beside the line-drawn pieces in wine wall art or the antipasti sheets in italian kitchen wall art. As kitchen wall art they suit a pantry wall or a narrow run of shelving.

Sizes, paper and framing

Every design is offered on archival matte paper in nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames, and on matte canvas either stretched on a wooden bar or set in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. Printed with pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.

Questions about seafood wall art

What is in the seafood wall art collection?

Painted sardine tins from Portugal and Bologna, loose fish laid on striped paper, and a vintage matchbox label with a single sardine.

Where does seafood wall art hang best?

A pantry wall, a narrow kitchen run, or a dining room where the aged palette suits the furniture. It also works in a coastal-themed room.

Is seafood wall art too niche for a kitchen?

The tins read as vintage packaging rather than as fish, which is why they sit comfortably in kitchens that would not take a literal seascape.

How do I hang seafood wall art as a set?

Two tins side by side make the clearest pair. Three in a row along a narrow wall suits the horizontal fish prints.

What size seafood wall art suits a pantry wall?

Smaller portrait sizes fit narrow walls and the gaps beside shelving. The wall art size guide shows each size in a real room.

Is seafood wall art available on canvas?

Yes, on matte canvas as well as archival matte paper, stretched or in a solid wood floating frame.

Does seafood wall art work in a restaurant?

It suits a fish restaurant or a tapas bar particularly well, and the vintage label look holds up in a large size on canvas.

What colors are in the seafood wall art prints?

Steel blue and silver fish against pink, turquoise, orange and aged cream, with red used sparingly on the tin labels.
