This Uros Islands Lake Titicaca poster stands on the woven reed surface of a floating island. Four totora reed boats lie moored along the edge, prows curling upward, their hulls painted bright blue inside with paddles resting across them. Past the thatched huts and a reed watchtower the deep teal lake opens out to a long wall of blue-grey mountains.
About the artwork
Drawn as a flat vector illustration with dense linework for the reed bundles and layered gradients on the water, in the manner of a mid-century travel poster. It works on two colours: golden amber and honey in the reeds, boats and huts, against teal and cobalt in the lake and sky, with soft blue-grey ridges behind. LAKE TITICACA is set in wide white capitals at the top, with PERU centred beneath. Portrait format, 2:3 ratio.
Why you'll love it
- Gold against teal — two strong colours, almost nothing else, so it reads from a distance.
- Craft in the detail — every reed bundle, boat prow and thatched roof is drawn line by line.
- A living village — figures, a watchtower and moored boats, not an empty landscape.
- For Andes travellers — the boat ride out of Puno onto the high lake.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The golden reeds warm up a cool room, so this one is at home on a pale grey, soft blue or crisp white wall. It looks especially good on deep petrol blue, where the amber almost glows. Pair it with light oak, woven seagrass baskets, a jute rug and brass or rattan lighting. Try it in a living room above a low bookshelf, or in a bathroom alongside pale linen towels.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What are the boats made of? Totora reeds, the same lake reed used to build the floating islands themselves. In this print you can see the bundles lashed into curled prows, the woven island surface underfoot, the thatched huts and the reed watchtower the Uros communities build on Lake Titicaca.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
