This Palenque Mexico travel poster climbs a broad flight of grey limestone steps in the left foreground, past palm fronds and a sandy dappled path, to a stone temple standing on its own terraced platform. A tall carved crest rises from the roof, and forested hills close in behind under a teal sky streaked with pale cloud.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes are built up in layers, with fine line hatching cut into every block and leaf, so the ruined stairway in front reads as loose, weathered masonry while the temple behind stays crisp. The palette is cool and green: sage, pine and emerald in the canopy, blue-grey and pale bone in the stone, teal in the sky, with a single band of warm cream where sunlight falls across the path at the bottom right. The temple sits slightly right of centre with the foreground stair leading in from the left. Lettering reads PALENQUE over a smaller MEXICO. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Carved roof crest — the openwork stone comb on the temple roof is the detail that makes this building unmistakable.
- Green, not gold — a rainforest palette of sage and pine rather than the desert tones most ruin prints use.
- Depth in three layers — broken stairway in front, temple in the middle, wooded hills behind.
- Maya stonework — a building of the Maya city of Palenque, drawn with its doorways, terraces and stair intact.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Sage, pine and blue-grey make this an easy match for green-leaning rooms: a sage or eucalyptus wall picks up the canopy, and warm white keeps the stone looking pale and clean. Avoid a strong terracotta wall, which fights the cool greys. Espresso or walnut wood suits the darker forest shadows, while natural oak lightens the whole thing. It sits well in a dining corner beside real foliage, or leaning on a floor by a bamboo screen where the palm fronds in the print echo the room.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the tall comb on top of the temple? It is a roof crest, a pierced stone wall built above the roofline of the temple, and it is the feature that separates this building from the other Maya ruins in the range.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
