This Tacoma watercolor print shows the tilted steel cone of the Museum of Glass on the Thea Foss Waterway, with Mount Rainier floating above the city. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the waterfront, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The cone is painted in silver gray, with a fine ink diamond grid and streaks of white paper for shine. The glass towers of the Chihuly Bridge of Glass are clear turquoise washes, and Mount Rainier is left mostly as white paper with blue-violet shadows. Looking southeast from the north end of the waterway, the cone rises on the left above concrete terraces, the bridge towers stand in the center, and red-brick Union Station with its copper-green dome sits on the right. A wooden boardwalk, a marina and kayaks fill the foreground in clear late-summer light. The left edge and bottom melt into blue and pink blooms, drips and splatter. "TACOMA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Three kayaks. Kayakers in red, yellow and blue paddle the calm waterway.
- Glass and copper accents. Turquoise glass towers and Union Station's copper-green dome stand out against blue water.
- Mountain above the city. Snowy Mount Rainier hovers over the skyline, tying art and landscape together.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blues, greens and silver gray suit a modern living room, an office or a bedroom with cool tones. It is a thoughtful gift for a South Sound local, a glass art lover or a new Pacific Northwest homeowner.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Tacoma? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Thea Foss Waterway, with the buildings and the mountain arranged for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "TACOMA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
