This Rio de Janeiro travel poster looks out from a forested ridge above the city. Leafy branches crowd the right edge, the slope falls into emerald jungle, and the Christ the Redeemer statue stands with open arms on a grey granite outcrop. Beyond it Guanabara Bay spreads in deep teal, ringed by pale apartment blocks, the dome of Sugarloaf and blue headlands.
About the artwork
Drawn in a flat vector, mid-century screen-print style, with broad colour bands and a fine grain that reads like litho ink. The palette runs from moss and emerald in the forest to turquoise, petrol blue and a pale gradient sky, with grey granite and white flecks for buildings and boats. Leaves, bay and ranges stack into deep layers. RIO DE JANEIRO and BRAZIL sit in white condensed capitals across the sky. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A viewpoint, not a postcard — jungle foliage frames the statue and bay.
- Green and blue together — rainforest greens balance the teal bay, good for plant-filled rooms.
- Depth across a room — layered ridge, bay and mountains read from the far side.
- Named on the print — city and country sit in the sky, so no caption is needed.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The emerald and petrol-blue palette settles on a warm white or soft clay wall, where the greens stay lively rather than cold. Rattan, cane and mid-brown oak echo the granite tones, and a jute rug picks up the pale city blocks. In a living room it sits above a linen sofa with one deep green cushion. In a plant corner, leaning on a low walnut shelf lines its ferns up with real leaves.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What am I looking at here? The wide panorama from the forested ridge above Rio, with the hilltop Christ statue at right and Guanabara Bay behind it. Two other Rio prints sit alongside it here: a Copacabana Beach view down the wave-patterned mosaic promenade and curve of sand, and a Sugarloaf Mountain view in near-monochrome blue, built on the granite dome, sailboats and a red cable car.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
