This Prescott watercolor print shows the rounded apricot boulders of the Granite Dells rising out of the still blue water of Watson Lake. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the lake and its rocks, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the stacked boulders and their cracks, while layered washes of apricot and beige carry cool violet shadows. The lake is painted in clear blue layers that mirror the rocks, and the left edge runs into golden-brown and violet drips that dissolve into blue, violet and beige at the bottom. The view looks east across Watson Lake from the western shoreline trail, with the largest boulder mass on the right and boulder islands in the middle of the lake. Smooth granite slabs, shrubs and cattails fill the foreground, low violet-blue hills sit behind, and the dry, clear light points to early summer. "PRESCOTT" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Kayaks on the water. Two kayakers in red and yellow add bright points of color on the blue lake.
- Hikers and a heron. A pair of hikers with backpacks climb the rocks, and a gray heron stands at the water's edge.
- Warm rock, cool water. Apricot granite against clear lake blue gives the print a balanced, outdoorsy palette.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The apricot, blue and sage tones sit well in a living room or bedroom with warm wood, terracotta or denim accents. It makes a thoughtful gift for a hiker or paddler who knows the Dells, or for someone moving away from Prescott.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Prescott? No. It is an artistic watercolor-style interpretation of the Granite Dells and Watson Lake, so rock shapes and spacing are simplified for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "PRESCOTT," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
