This Old San Juan Puerto Rico print stands in the middle of a narrow street paved with blue-grey cobbles. A hot pink townhouse with white window surrounds and black iron balconies fills the right side, a sky-blue facade with a deep balcony runs down the left, and further along a yellow house, more blue and white walls and a pale stone tower close the view under a bright cyan sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shadow shapes and a fine speckled grain across the plaster, so the walls look weathered without any outline. The palette is deliberately loud: magenta and cyan against butter yellow, cream trim and the cool blue-grey of the paving, with black ironwork tying it together. The composition is a tight one-point perspective, the cobbles filling the lower half and the facades converging on the stone tower at the end. The lettering reads OLD SAN JUAN above PUERTO RICO in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The blue paving — the old town's blue-grey cobblestones are drawn stone by stone across the whole foreground.
- Colour with confidence — magenta and cyan facing each other across the street, cooled by cream trim and grey stone.
- Wrought-iron detail — balconies, railings and shuttered doors give the walls texture up close.
- A view with a destination — the perspective runs to a pale stone tower rather than trailing off.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Magenta and cyan are strong enough to be the only colour a room needs, so a plain white, chalk or pale grey wall serves it best. A black frame echoes the ironwork and keeps the pink from spreading, while a white frame keeps the whole thing light and graphic. It works in a bedroom above a round bedside table with a simple lamp, or in a living room where a single pink cushion or a cyan vase repeats one of the two colours. Keep the surrounding shelf styling plain and let the street carry the room.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
How is this different from the other San Juan prints? This one stays inside the walled old town, a cobbled street of pink, blue and yellow houses with balconies, and no sea in the picture at all. We also sell a print of Castillo del Morro, the fortress headland with its stepped ramparts, sentry box and Atlantic surf, and a wider San Juan view of the city's fortifications and coastline. Pick this one if you want the colour and the streets rather than the water.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
