A Mount Fuji wave print for a living room that wants deep color and movement. Under a navy sky, a large red sun shares the view with the snowcapped peak, cream clouds soften the scene, and teal and cream waves curl along the bottom. It is a new woodblock-style design inspired by ukiyo-e.
About the artwork
Navy, teal, cream and red make up the palette. The red sun is large and marked with faint stripes, and it glows against the navy sky beside Fuji's snowy summit. Cream clouds soften the middle of the picture, and the waves below repeat that cream in their curling tops. The flat, layered color takes its cue from ukiyo-e, the woodblock prints of Edo-period Japan. The lettering reads JAPANESE LANDSCAPE. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- Night-blue sky. A navy ground makes the red sun and the white snowcap glow.
- Waves with movement. Teal and cream waves curl across the bottom, adding motion beneath a still mountain.
- A striped sun. Faint stripes across the red disc add a printed, graphic detail.
- Ukiyo-e roots, current colors. The flat layered look is inspired by Edo-period woodblock prints, while teal and navy keep it modern.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Navy and teal need a wall that lets them stand out: crisp white, pale gray or soft cream in a living room with walnut or dark oak furniture. A deep blue or rust sofa picks up the sky and the sun. At 24" x 36" it works as the main piece over a sofa; 18" x 24" fits a narrow wall beside a fireplace. Pair it with a seigaiha-patterned cushion, whose overlapping arcs echo the waves.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this a traditional woodblock print? No. It is a new design in a woodblock style, inspired by ukiyo-e, the woodblock prints of Edo-period Japan.
What does the lettering read? It reads JAPANESE LANDSCAPE, set in capital letters.
What wall color suits the navy sky? Crisp white or pale gray gives the navy a clean edge. Warm cream also works and brings out the cream clouds and wave tops.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
