A Japandi tree ring print for a bedroom done in wood and linen. Slices of timber are stacked on the sheet, each showing its growth rings in soft beige and light brown, with a black label reading 時輪. Nothing else competes with the grain, which is the point.
About the artwork
The palette stays in light beige and pale brown, and black appears only in the 時輪 label. Several round wood slices overlap in a stack, and their concentric rings repeat from slice to slice, so the print reads as pattern first and wood second. The lettering gives "JIRIN" in Latin letters, the kanji 時輪, and a short Japanese line, 時輪は回る. It is a minimalist piece meant to sit quietly in a room. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- Rings on rings. Stacking several slices multiplies the circles, giving a soft repeat pattern instead of one single target.
- Wood tones on paper. The beige and pale brown match oak floors, rattan and linen, so it blends into a Japandi bedroom.
- One dark accent. The black 時輪 label is the darkest mark on the sheet and gives the eye a clear place to land.
- Grain up close. The slices are shown near enough to follow individual rings, a detail you usually only see on a freshly cut log.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Put it on a bedroom wall in warm white, greige or soft clay, above a low platform bed in oak or ash. Paper lamp shades, linen curtains and a jute rug repeat its colors. 18" x 24" suits a nightstand wall; 24" x 36" works centered over the bed. Pair it with a darker orange-brown wood grain print to show two tones of the same idea.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is written on the print? The Latin letters "JIRIN", the kanji 時輪 on a black label, and a short Japanese line, 時輪は回る.
Will the beige look washed out on a white wall? The beige and light brown sit softly on white. For more definition, choose a black or espresso solid wood floating frame to outline the sheet.
Which size should I pick for a bedroom? 18" x 24" for above a nightstand or dresser; 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" to center over a bed.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
