A Japanese sunrise print for a bathroom you want to feel bright first thing. A large, soft red sun sits on a pink-cream ground, and a sea of thick blue curling waves rolls below it. HINODE, sunrise, is lettered on the sheet. It is warm, simple and easy to live with every morning.
About the artwork
Three colors do the work: a faded red for the sun, thick blue line work for the waves, and a pink-cream ground that warms the whole sheet. The sun is large and soft rather than crisp, while the sea below is drawn in bold curling lines. The lettering reads HINODE with the Japanese characters for sunrise, plus the words JAPANDI COLLECTION. The result is woodblock-style, warm and calm. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A sunrise for the morning. HINODE means sunrise, a fitting word for the room you start the day in.
- Soft red, not hard red. The faded sun glows rather than shouts, so it stays calm in a small space.
- Bold blue waves. The thick curling lines hold their shape from the doorway as well as up close.
- Pink-cream warmth. The warm ground softens white tile and bright fixtures.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This suits a bathroom with white, blush or warm gray walls, especially beside a wood vanity or above a freestanding tub. The blue waves pick up blue tile or a navy bath mat, and the red sun works with terracotta or rust towels. A 16" x 24" print fits above a vanity; 12" x 18" suits a narrow wall. An espresso or natural solid wood floating frame warms it further. Pair it with a small blue line drawing of the sea to repeat the waves.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is HINODE in English? HINODE is Japanese for sunrise, and the Japanese characters on the print say the same thing.
Will this print suit a small bathroom? Yes. At 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" it fits beside a mirror or above a towel rail, and the simple sun and waves read clearly at small sizes.
Which colors does it bring to a room? A faded red, a strong blue and a warm pink-cream. It pairs well with white tile, wood and terracotta accents.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
