This Death Valley National Park watercolor print shows Manly Beacon rising above a maze of golden badlands at Zabriskie Point in California. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the view, not an exact one.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines follow every fold and gully in the dry mudstone hills, with ochre and cream washes layered and cool violet in the creases. White paper stands in for the salt flats on the valley floor and snow on the far range. Ochre and cream badlands, red-brown cliffs and violet-blue distant mountains make up the palette. Manly Beacon stands at center right, seen from the overlook looking west, with the dark Red Cathedral cliffs to the right and the snowy Panamint Range on the horizon. A low stone wall and desert holly sit in the left foreground, and gold, violet and blue drips run along the bottom. "DEATH VALLEY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rippling badland folds. The ink linework turns the eroded hills into a rhythmic pattern of ridges and shadows.
- Winter snow on peaks. A snowy range above golden desert shows the park's sharp contrasts in one view.
- Hikers far below. A group of four walks the Golden Canyon trail while a raven perches on a rock near the overlook.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gold, cream and lavender suit a minimalist living room, a warm-toned bedroom, or an office with brass and linen. Give it to a desert photographer, someone who stood at the overlook at dawn, or a road-tripper heading west.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Death Valley National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Zabriskie Point, with the badlands, cliffs and distant range arranged for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "DEATH VALLEY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
