A Copacabana beach Rio poster seen from above the promenade. The black and white mosaic pavement fills the foreground in long rolling waves, walkers spread across it, and a row of palms runs down the left edge. Past them the pale sand curves away, backed by a wall of white apartment towers, while ranks of surf break at right and grey headlands close the horizon.
About the artwork
Drawn as a flat vector screen print with fine stipple in the sand and pavement. The palette is cool and faded: bone and oat sand, slate and petrol for the mosaic and sea, white foam lines, muted olive palms, soft grey-blue sky. A steep viewpoint pushes the promenade forward and lets the shoreline sweep to a vanishing point. RIO DE JANEIRO and BRAZIL are set in white capitals at the top. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The pavement is the subject — the rolling mosaic pattern carries the eye up the print.
- Muted, not tropical — soft slate and oat tones sit calmly in a room without shouting.
- Full of small life — tiny figures on sand and promenade reward a close look.
- Long sweep — the shoreline curve suits a tall wall or narrow alcove.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The oat and slate palette is easy on a chalky off-white or pale greige wall, and stays crisp against warm plaster. It suits bleached oak, linen in sand or stone, and a flatweave rug in undyed wool. In a bedroom it sits over a low headboard with a woven throw. In a hallway, pale frames let the wave pattern echo along the wall without competing for colour.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the wave pattern in the foreground? That is the beachfront promenade, paved in black and white stone in a rolling wave design and drawn here in full. Two other Rio prints run beside it here: a city panorama from the forested ridge with the hilltop Christ statue and Guanabara Bay, and a Sugarloaf Mountain view in near-monochrome blue with the granite dome, sailboats and a red cable car.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
