This Carson City watercolor print shows the Nevada State Capitol with its silver cupola, set against the snow-streaked peaks of the Carson Range. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the capitol grounds, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines define the portico columns, arched windows and eight-sided cupola. The mountains are violet-blue washes with bare paper left as snow, and layered dabs of fresh green form the trees. The palette is spring green, pale sandstone grey and violet-blue, with white snow and blossoms, pink-violet flowers and a red-brick building as accents. The capitol sits center-right, seen from the east lawn, with a curving path rising from the foreground to its steps between tall trees, pines and flower beds. Brick buildings and a spire of downtown Carson City sit middle left, and the Carson Range of the Sierra Nevada stretches across the back in mid spring. "CARSON CITY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Silver cupola. The capitol's silver-painted cupola stands out against the snowy mountains.
- Sierra snow and spring. Fresh green leaves below and lingering snow above capture a mountain spring.
- Picnic on the lawn. A family picnics, a couple sits on a bench and a jogger follows the curving path.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The fresh greens and lavender blues feel calm in a bedroom, home office or entryway with white, grey or light oak. It makes a nice gift for a Nevadan or a friend who just moved to northern Nevada.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Carson City? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Nevada State Capitol and the mountains behind it, painted in a loose watercolor style.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "CARSON CITY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
